• Search for Yass Minor 

• Register and complete a full profile, including identification and recent photo.

Already registered?

• Excellent! Once teams are allocated and confirmed, you will receive contact from the Club.

This will happen around mid-March

 

Having trouble registering and can't see an option for you?

​

• If teams or age groups become full, the age group will be closed off.

My Sideline will not let you register into these age groups.

• MySideline will have an Expression of Interest section where you can leave your details.

How much does it cost to register?

• 1st Child - $130

• 2nd Child - $120

• 3rd Child - $110

• 4th Child – FREE

How do I contact the club?

Please be advised all committee members are volunteers with full time jobs, the anticipated

response time can be 5-7 days over the busy period while actioning multiple emails.

Please be patient and we will respond as soon as we can.

What does my child receive?

 

• Playing jerseys, playing shorts, socks to wear on game days

• A training shirt

• Insurance for the season

• End of season club presentation with awards

• A team photo

My child wants to move from another Club

 

•All players previously registered with another Club will need to go through a clearance/permit process to ensure that all the rules for moving Clubs are cleared. You can activate this process in MySideline. This will alert the new club, previous club and the governing regions of both those clubs.

This can take some time. Please be patient with this process.

 

What team am I in and who is my coach?

 

•Sit tight. Most teams are re-formed from previous seasons. New and transferring players need to be allocated and at times some ages require re-grading depending on the proposed Divisions.

 

Specific team request?

• For player/team requests the club requests that these need to be made by 30 January of the season

• While every effort is made to accommodate team requests, unfortunately these cannot always be guaranteed depending on team capacity, returning players and grading.

• Starting in 2026, all registered players from Under 6 to Under 13 will be placed in their natural age groups. In accordance with CRRL regulations, players will no longer be permitted to request to play in a higher age group or be granted dispensations to play in a lower age group. Players aged over 13 will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and approval may or may not be granted.

2025 Season

 

• U6 to U15 Sunday 27 April 2025

• LeagueTag Sunday 27 April 2025

• U16,U16LT & U17 Sunday 27 April 2025, then moving to Friday nights

Uniforms

 

• Full playing uniform will be issued to each player

• Shorts, socks and training t-shirt are provided to keep each season

• Playing jerseys in 2025 will be issued for the season

 

What do I need to play?

 

• Football boots

• Mouth guard

• Headgear (optional)

 

When does training start?

 

• Training times will be determined with coaches and communicated to you.

• The Yass magpies train at Walker Park (with the exemption of the renovation period) across most days of the week.

• For most teams, training will start mid-late March once you hear from your team officials.

Canberra Region Rugby League (CRRL)

 

• The CRRL administers the junior rugby league competition. Make sure you check out the CRRL rules and policies that govern the way our game is played.

Would you like to volunteer for a position?

• Please ensure you register yourself on MySideline and prepare to hold a NSW Working With Children’s Check.

• All teams require five positions to be filled to take the field – Coach, Manager, Trainer, LeagueSafe, Field Manager

• Depending on the position you are filling there may be an online or in-person training courses required. Please contact yassminorrugbyleague@gmail.com

• Yass minor rugby league will cover the cost for required courses.

 

How is the Yass Magpies Juniors managed?

• Yass Magpies Juniors Committee is elected at the annual AGM.

• The committee has an executive team and a general members, they meet every month to discuss important matters, make decisions and undertake the general running of the club.
